Heather and Geoffrey Hart trail running

Not exactly a high school athlete, Geoff started running back in ’88 to get into shape before entering boot camp. After leaving the military, Geoff flirted with Triathlon for a few years before settling into Mountain Biking as his sport of choice during the early 90s.

Living in Worcester, MA for the later part of the decade, Geoff trained with the New England Kwanmukan martial arts school going on to win several gold and silver medals at Nationals. Moving to Brattleboro VT, Geoff discovered white water kayaking and spent many years running the local Class III and IV rivers. During the winter months, snowboarding the local mountains was the past time of choice intermingled with Nordic skiing and snowshoeing.

2006 brought Geoff to Reno NV, the past stomping ground of professional cyclist Greg LeMond. Immediately jumping into road cycling, Geoff belonged to several teams and raced the local circuit. Working at the local college’s fitness center, Geoff became and AFAA certified personal trainer and taught resistance training classes at the collegiate level. His time in Reno also introduced him to Adventure Racing, his team qualified for Nationals on their first go at the Tahoe Big Blue 24hr Adventure Race.

Upon meeting Heather in 2011, that energy shifted over to Obstacle Course Racing. Several seasons of OCR reinforced Geoff’s belief in running and he started shifting towards trail running specifically to complement OCR.

Moving to Myrtle Beach in 2015, Geoff’s focus grew on trail and ultra-running, eventually leading him to become a UESCA and RRCA certified coach. Geoff’s passion in assisting other athletes tackle their goals become his full time dream job in 2017.
